there is:

 passwd -x 1000 -i 1000 -w 200 apz

  -x days when password expires
  -i days account stays enabled even after expiry
  -w days warning before password expires

 but this is after password change, there is also

      usermod -e 2010-01-01 apz

 which should set the next date that password will disable
